Victoria IndieCine

Do you need a certificate or diploma film school program to make films? No! (read more) IndieCine bridges the gap between long/ expensive film programs and 1-2 day courses. IndieCine offers a creative and practical approach to independent and no-budget filmmaking. Tailored for individuals who are not interested in climbing the ranks on big-budget features, want to explore their creativity through film, and are not in a position professionally or financially to attend formal training facilities. We strip away the fluff from 'film school' and have developed condensed, intensive courses that address the artistry and business of filmmaking - ensuring that participants have a firm understanding of the industry, giving them the best chance to find a venue for their work.

Our Mission

IndieCine has a goal - to train and mentor producers, writers and directors in the art of independent and no-budget filmmaking. We give a practical insight into the complexities of independent filmmaking and allow participants to explore their own unique, distinctive vision and learn how to tell creative stories with the tools and mediums available on a small budget.

IndieCine wants its participants to succeed. Instructors work closely with students so they can attain skills and vision to move towards their personal goals and have a successful career grounded in both creative ambition and pragmatic and insightful realism. IndieCine achieves this with a balance of hands on training, capped class sizes and a philosophy which puts the student's concrete skills and creativity first. We will help students to understand the business side of film and address it without it overwhelming their artistic vision.

quote of the month

"In the future, everybody is going to be a director. Somebody's got to live a real life so we have something to make a movie about."
